A new kind of Coles has opened in Melbourne’s Hawthorn, and it’s a little different to your average supermarket. With a whole range of sustainable and environmentally conscious products and features, it was only fitting that we provide them with a recycled polo shirt to match.
A new kind of Coles
Offering products and produce from 80 specialty local growers, Coles Local Glenferrie is the perfect fit for its Hawthorn location. In the middle of a busy shopping village and right next to a university, it’s designed to meet customer needs and support local suppliers – something that’s needed even more in these tough times.
The store features a wide range of self-serve options, including an extensive vegan and vegetarian range, as well as delicious ice creams for both humans and dogs!
Centred around sustainability and eco-friendliness, Coles Local also offers free recycled customer carry boxes, reduced plastic packaging, energy-efficient fridge doors, a zero edible food waste policy and a dedicated eco-friendly product section.
A very special uniform
The icing on the cake for this environmentally-conscious store is its uniform polo shirts, supplied by Belgravia Apparel (formerly Bizwear). The uniforms are made from 65% recycled bottles. The polos are designed and manufactured by our team and are Global Recycled Standard certified.
With more stores due to open in the future, we’re looking forward to seeing this sustainable style of uniform become more common, and we’re proud to be part of this exciting new era for Coles.
